Woke up this morning overlooking the quaint little port town of Djúpivogur, an integral part to Iceland’s trading. Walked down to a nearby cafe to grab some coffee and determine the next stop on the trip. Generally asking the locals on things to do and places to go resulted in awesome adventures. However, the local we were chatting with in the cafe was all too excited about the rock museum down the road and the one in the next town over, located on private property in a mans back yard. Maybe we will skip those… So onward on a quest to find puffins (a traveling biologist from Australia overheard us asking for things to do and gave us a few spots where they were popular)!

Getting further north made us realize how much snow Iceland really had, and how much we were going to have to skip in the north since we simply couldn’t get anywhere. These days consisted of a lot of driving overlooking some awesome scenery.
The town from The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Pretty awesome town situated in its own little valley on an inlet of water surrounded by snow capped mountains.
There is a fairly large colony of Puffins right outside the town of Bakkagerði in the northeast of the island. We were pretty ecstatic about finding puffins so naturally i took way too many photos. The coolest animal in Iceland.
